Sumisho to buy B4 Consulting

B4 Consulting Inc. reports that Sumisho Computer Systems Inc. plans to acquire B4 Consulting and operate it as a U.S.-based subsidiary.

Waltham-based B4 provides business performance management, implementation and support services for SAP products. New York-based Sumisho Computer is a division of Tokyo-based Sumisho Computer Systems Corp., which is part of the Sumitomo Corp.

The acquisition of B4 Consulting is expected to enable SCS’s strategic growth as a global provider of SAP products, company officials said. B4 Consulting integrates business processes and technologies globally for customers who want improved results from their SAP solutions. The firm is authorized to resell and implement the entire suite of SAP products for the midmarket including: SAP Business One, SAP Business All-in-One, SAP Business All-in-One fast-start, and SAP Business Objects.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

B4 operates offices in Greater Philadelphia; Chicago; New York City; Mountain View, Calif.; and Stuttgart, Germany.

Sumisho Computer Systems (USA), which founded in 1987, operates a branch office in Irving, Texas. It provides services such as application development, infrastructure and network development, security, IT consulting, and outsourcing to Japanese-related corporations operating in the United States.

In 1998, Sumisho Computer founded Cambridge-based Internet-enabled enterprise software company Curl Inc.
