The Pitch

PeopleAhead matches jobs with candidates

By Mass High Tech Staff

Employees: 3
Founded: 2006

The Pitch: Following a beta trial, PeopleAhead is seeking equity investment to fund growth.

PITCHING THE TECHNOLOGY

PeopleAhead wants to fix an online recruitment model it says is broken. The company says its proprietary “TrueMatch” technology is intended to present relevant career opportunities to professionals looking for a job — as well as people who already have jobs — and to provide qualified candidates to hiring companies. PeopleAhead says it wants to make searching for jobs and employees more efficient by eliminating the need for time-consuming searches for resumes and job postings. The company says it is more of a career-advancement site than a job-search site. The site has social networking features, allowing job seekers to interact with one another. The site also emphasizes a candidate’s “multidimensional” profile — intangible, non-resume-bullet qualities like leadership or teamwork.

PITCHING THE PEOPLE
Who is on the management team? Carlos Larracilla, CEO, formerly of the Vitro Group and Accenture Ltd.

Have executives been involved in a cashout prior to this venture? No.

PITCHING THE BUSINESS
How much investment is being sought? The company says it’s seeking $2 million in equity investment.

What partnerships, collaborations or affiliations are already in place? PeopleAhead says it has struck up partnerships with a number of New England graduate schools and professional associations.

List any federal or state grants, contracts or awards received: None.

What’s the market size being pursued?
PeopleAhead says it’s going after the $6.2 billion online recruitment advertising segment of the $58 billion recruitment industry.

Who are the likely competitors, direct or indirect?
The company names job-matching sites like Trovix Inc. and JobFox Inc.

Is the company profitable? No.
