Mobile media technology company Azuki Systems Inc. of Acton has appointed Dan Carney as vice president of operations. Carney will also lead Azuki’s professional services organization in the creation of customer-specific content mashup services based on the Azuki platform. Prior to Azuki, Carney was global vice president of operations and IT at bcgi (recently acquired by XIUS). Before bcgi, Carney spent seven years at Wildfire Communications, which was acquired by mobile network operator Orange SA, working as senior director of operations. Earlier in his career, Carney held numerous roles at Verizon.
Services
Karen Hersey, a past president of the Association of University Technology Managers, has joined Aurora Nova LLC of Topsfield as a senior consultant. Hersey formerly served as senior counsel for intellectual property at MIT. She currently serves as a visiting professor at the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, N.H.
Norwood-based digital marketing company Cramer reports that Adriana Zeman and Scott Kiekbusch have been appointed to serve as the directors of the Digital Solutions group. Zeman formerly served as an account director and program manager for Molecular Inc. Prior to Molecular, Zeman worked for American Financial Systems as an e-commerce project manager for SegurasdeVida.com, an online life insurance retailer with operations in Mexico. Kiekbusch was previously Cramer’s director of user experience. He has been with Cramer for more than three years, and has an extensive background in brand identity development, online strategy, information architecture and website design. Prior to Cramer, Kiekbusch operated a production company in Boulder, Colo., and an interactive consulting firm in St Louis, Mo., working with clients in the education, financial services and biotech industries.
Integrated Environmental Solutions Ltd., a provider of integrated performance analysis software based in Glasgow, Scotland, and with offices in Boston, has named Timothy Moore as its senior consultant of special projects, Nicole Shumaker as its reseller territory sales manager and Dimitri Contoyannis as business development and project manager. Moore’s consulting experience includes a previous LEED-accredited consultant position with Whole Systems Designs, as well as a lead design development position at Lotus Engineering. Most recently, Shumaker was the director of “building information modeling” market development at Applied Software. Contoyannis most recently was an associate mechanical engineer at Cannon Design, where he helped achieve LEED silver certification.

The Scuderi Group, a West Springfield-based developer of a fuel-efficient internal combustion engine, has named Bill Wrinn as director of the company’s global marketing and communications initiatives. Wrinn has a range of media communications, marketing and publishing experience, spanning more than 20 years. A former news, government and education reporter, he has worked in public relations for the past eight years, with a focus on the technology, consumer and academic industries. Most recently, Wrinn was a director and senior counsel with PR firm Topaz Partners, where he had overseen the agency’s work with the Scuderi Group for the last three years.
Finance
TM Capital, a Westwood-based middle-market investment bank, has hired Alexander Egelson as a financial analyst in its technology practice. Egelson joins the firm after completing an internship program with the firm last summer. He recently graduated from Bates College with a bachelor’s degree in economics.
Jamie Harper has been promoted to vice president of European, Middle Eastern and African regions of Waltham-based Lewtan Technologies Inc. Harper was previously the director of sales for the London office. Prior to joining Lewtan, Harper held positions as head of sales and marketing at Thomson IFR, business development at Moody’s RMS, sales and marketing director at IFex and senior vice president at Demica.
