Earth Search finds new chief scientist

By Mass High Tech Staff

Less than one month after moving its corporate headquarters from Montana to Boston, Earth Search Sciences Inc. has rounded out its executive team with the appointment of Michael D. Lockhart as the company’s chief scientist.

Lockhart, the holder of 30 patents and long-time research and development consultant for government agencies and large companies such as General Dynamics, will be responsible for developing and implementing Earth Search’s (OTC: ESSE) technology strategy.

According to Earth Search CEO Luis Lugo, who was appointed last month, the company’s executives believe Lockhart’s expertise in environmental impact assessments will help the company in its efforts to develop technologies that contribute economically, without the environmental impacts normally associated with petrochemical resource development.

Earth Search’s technology allows for remote sensing of the chemical properties of substances on the earth’s surface from high altitudes. The company said its technology could be used to identify specific minerals and substances by their reflective patterns.

Originally founded in Montana, Earth Search relocated to Boston in late July after its acquisition of General Synfuels International Inc., a maker of gasification technologies used for the discovery of hydrocarbons.

The publicly-traded company reported a 2008 net loss of $5.1 million on zero revenue.
