Netezza nabs tech from Boston’s Intelligent Integration Systems

Data warehouse server maker Netezza Corp. reports that it has acquired software from Intelligent Integration Systems Inc.
Boston-based Intelligent Integraton Systems, founded in 2005, develops applications that exploit massively parallel processing in data warehousing. The technology will be delivered through Netezza’s sales and marketing channel and accelerate the after-market for third party applications that incorporate Netezza’s analytic capability, company officials said.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Marlborough-based Netezza (NYSE: NZ), founded in 2000, employs 350 workers. It operates offices in Washington, DC, the United Kingdom and the Asia Pacific region.
In May, the company acquired for an undisclosed amount NuTech Solutions Inc., a North Carolina-based developer of advanced predictive analytics and optimization software. NuTech Solutions continued to serve customers as an independent division of Netezza and maintain its operations in Germany and Poland.
Netezza completed an initial public offering in 2007 after raising more than $83 million in private funding. During fiscal 2008, the company posted a net income of $1.9 million on revenue of $126.6 million.
