Krayacich appointed to head Marinus Pharma

Marinus Pharmaceuticals Inc. has named John Krayacich as president and CEO of the Branford, Conn.-based developer of neurological, psychiatric and pain disorder treatments.

Krayacich will head development of chelerythrine, a pre-clinical schizophrenia drug candidate, and ganaxolone, a Phase 2 drug candidate for adult and pediatric epilepsy.

Prior to joining Marinus, Krayacich worked for Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. as global program head for the antidepressant agomelatine, and vice president and global head of neuroscience project management.

He has also served as vice president of worldwide neurology marketing at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals Group and Parke-Davis Global Marketing Planning. Krayacich also has helped develop and market treatments for epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, neuropathic pain, depression, anxiety, Multiple Sclerosis and bipolar disorder.

Marinus Pharmaceuticals is a privately-held company with investment backing from Domain Associates, Canaan Partners, Sofinnova Ventures and Foundation Medical Partners.
