Savant Protection appoints CEO; founder named CTO

By Mass High Tech Staff

Cyber security software maker Savant Protection Inc. has appointed former Core Security Technologies chief executive Paul Paget to the corner office.

Paget spent five years at Boston-based enterprise security provider Core Security Technologies. He takes over for Savant founder and former CEO Ken Steinberg, who will take the role of CTO.

Founded in 2004 as Interpose LLC, Savant Protection changed its name to reflect that of its main product, Savant Protection, in 2006. The Hudson, N.H.-based company makes anti-malware software for enterprises and uses a distributed deployment model, aimed at protecting each workstation, server or device in a given enterprise.

Savant Protection’s local customers include Connecticut River Bank and Burlington Coat Factory.

While the firm has been built on providing security to workstation and server environments, it has also moved into the mobile world, and in March announced that it has ported its device protection software to the anticipated Android mobile operation system from Google Inc.
