Seanodes lands $2.4M from French agency OSEO
By Mass High Tech Staff
Seanodes Inc., the Cambridge-based North American unit of Seanodes SA of France, has taken in about $2.4 million in funding from OSEO, France’s national agency for industrial innovation, according to officials.
OSEO delivered the funding in the form of a no-interest loan, which Seanode officials say will be used to support ongoing technology development and for company growth. In particular, according to Christophe Guittenit, CTO of Seanodes, the funds will allow the company to expand its R&D efforts to further integrate its shared internal storage technology with platforms from VMware Inc. and Microsoft Corp.
Seanodes makes Exanodes, a software platform that allows virtualized infrastructure applications to combine unused disk space found in server and storage clusters with existing or additional dedicated storage hardware to make a shared storage pool. The privately-held company was founded in 2002.
