Mark Goldberg made COO at Parexel

Parexel International Corp., a provider of services for the biopharmaceutical industry, reports that it has promoted Mark Goldberg to COO from his previous post as president of clinical research services and perceptive informatics for the company.
In his new position, Goldberg will continue overseeing the clinical research services sector.
Joining Waltham-based Parexel (Nasdaq: PRXL) in 1997, he began working on safety of products using imaging data as biomarkers. In 2000, he helped create Perceptive Informatics to develop medical imaging and the IMPACT Clinical Trial Management System with its 26,000 users.
Before Parexel, Goldberg worked as president and director of WorldCare Inc., a Massachusetts General Hospital tele-health spinout.
Goldberg graduated from MIT with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering and an M.D. degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Parexel, with 6,485 workers, reported 2007 net income of $37.3 million on revenue of $918.1 million. The company announced in June that it planned to buy clinical technology firm ClinPhone PLC for $182 million.
