Parexel International Corp., a provider of services for the biopharmaceutical industry, reports that it has promoted Mark Goldberg to COO from his previous post as president of clinical research services and perceptive informatics for the company.

In his new position, Goldberg will continue overseeing the clinical research services sector.

Goldberg graduated from MIT with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering and an M.D. degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

Parexel, with 6,485 workers, reported 2007 net income of $37.3 million on revenue of $918.1 million. The company announced in June that it planned to buy clinical technology firm ClinPhone PLC for $182 million.
