C-level execs named at Predictive Biosciences

By Mass High Tech Staff

Molecular diagnostics company Predictive Biosciences Inc. reports appointing Ellen Sheets as its chief medical officer and Vikram Lamba as chief financial officer.

Sheets was previously chief medical officer and senior vice president of Bedford-based Hologic Inc., where she also served as general manager of the breast health unit and vice president of clinical affairs. At Hologic and predecessor company Cytyc Corp., Sheets was responsible for all clinical research activities, restructuring the clinical department to support new product initiatives and directing product development and company-wide advocacy and product reimbursement.

From 1997 to 2002, she was an associate professor for Harvard Medical School and associate director for the division of gynecologic oncology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Lamba was previously vice president of corporate development at Advanced Medical Optics Inc., and CFO of GeneOhm Sciences Inc., both based in California. At AMO, he was responsible for significant merger and acquisition deals and strategic alliances, including the company’s acquisition of Intralase Corp. At GeneOhm Sciences, he was involved in the company’s 2006 acquisition by New Jersey-based Becton Dickinson and Co. From 1996 to 2004, he held various senior management positions in the United States, Canada and Europe for the healthcare division for Bayer AG.

Lexington-based Predictive Biosciences, launched in 2006, utilizes a portfolio of biomarkers and clinical algorithms to develop non-invasive diagnostic products for what it calls informed cancer management. The company is funded by Lexington-based Highland Capital Partners and Boston-based Flybridge Capital.

In March, it named Peter Klemm as its first president and chief executive officer. Klemm, formerly CEO of molecular diagnostics company GeneOhm Sciences, was also named a director of the company.
