Former edocs co-founder Moran made CEO at Covergence

Telecommunications equipment maker Covergence Inc. has made James Moran president and CEO to lead organizations in moving to voice over IP and unified communications, the company says.

Moran co-founded and held the executive vice president role at edocs, a provider of e-billing and customer self-service software, which Siebel Systems acquired in 2005 for $115 million in cash. Before edocs, he held executive positions at Virtusa Corp. and CheckFree Corp.

Maynard-based Covergence offers Session Border Controllers and Session Management solutions to assist Global 1000 companies in VoIP transition.
