By Mass High Tech Staff
Portable defibrillator company Zoll Medical Corp. says it has brought on board Jonathan Rennert as president of the Chelmsford company, replacing in the position Richard A. Packer, who will remain chairman and CEO.
Rennert will be primarily responsible for managing Zoll’s core defibrillator/resuscitation business, according to company officials.
Prior to joining Zoll (Nasdaq: Zoll), Rennert served as president and CCEO of BioProcessors Corp. of Woburn. Previously, he held management, manufacturing and engineering positions with PerkinElmer Inc. and United Technologies’ Carrier Corp. Earlier in his career, he was employed by General Electric Co. and Anderson Consulting.
Zoll also reports that Ward Hamilton and Steven Flora are being named as Zoll’s first senior vice presidents. Hamilton has been vice president of marketing since 1992. Flora has served in the role of vice president of North American sales since 1998.
In March Zoll won a deal from a French fire department in a Paris suburb which purchased external heart pumps for $1.1 million. In November 2006 Mass High Tech named Packer an All-Star for his guidance of Zoll as chairman and CEO since 1999.
Zoll reported 2007 net income of $16.7 million on sales of $309.5 million.
