By Mass High Tech Staff

XyEnterprise Inc. reports that it has acquired a Virginia-based company that it will operate as a services and consulting business unit.

The Wakefield-based XyEnterprise, a developer of content management and multi-channel delivery software and services, bought Herndon, Va.-based X.Systems Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

All X.Systems’ employees have joined XyEnterprise, increasing its employee count to 80, officials said. XSystems’ software maintenance and service operations, as well as the company’s other assets, will be transferred to XyEnterprise and current clients with active maintenance agreements will continue to be supported, company officials said.

X.Systems was founded in 1991; XyEnterprise in 1998.
