By Mass High Tech Staff
Perimeter eSecurity reports that it has acquired Edgeos Inc., a provider of on-demand, managed vulnerability services for security software providers.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Milford, Conn.-based Perimeter eSecurity bought the Chandler, Ariz.-based Edgeos for its internal and external vulnerability scanning technology, combined with its online questionnaire and consulting service, company officials said.
Edgeos, founded in 2001, employs 25 workers and posted annual revenue of less than $10 million, according to Perimeter officials.
Perimeter eSecurity, founded in 1999, employs 325 workers. The company sells on-demand subscriptions to more than 50 tech security services, including firewall intrusion detection, anti-virus detection for e-mail, system auditing and remote backup.
In January, Perimeter eSecurity acquired for an undisclosed amount Secure Electronic Communication Compliance Archival System, a New York-based developer of e-messaging compliance technology.
It was Perimeter’s 10th acquisition since 2003, company officials said. The lone New England purchase occurred in January 2007, when Perimeter bought Lowell’s Message Secure Corp.
