FreshTracks Capital closes $14M fund

Venture capital firm FreshTracks Capital reports that it has closed a $14 million fund, FreshTracks Capital II L.P.

The fund’s limited partners include Middlebury College, Vermont Public Radio, the Vermont Community Foundation and Merchants Bank, firm officials said.

Shelburne, Vt.-based FreshTracks Capital, which invests in emerging Vermont growth companies, also manages FreshTracks I, an $11 million fund that closed in 2001. From the first fund, the firm completed investments in 14 companies including Eating Well Inc., Vermont Teddy Bear Co., M2S Inc. and Brighter Planet Inc., firm officials said.

FreshTracks is an affiliate fund in the Village Ventures national network of funds, which collectively has more than $500 million in capital under management, directed by 35 venture professionals in 14 distinct funds.
