Reveal to help keep Beijing Olympics safe from bombs

By Mass High Tech

Reveal Imaging Technologies Inc. reports it has landed contracts from Beijing Capital International Airport Authority and an unnamed Chinese government agency for explosives detection technology for use during the upcoming Summer Olympics.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The Reveal CT-80 platform uses computed tomography technology in a small physical size to provide explosives screening for aviation and event security at high-risk facilities.

In March, the baggage-scanning technology maker closed a $20.3 million round of venture funding.

Last November, Bedford-based Reveal won a $2.5 million, two-year research contract from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to identify an optimal design for CT-based explosives detection systems and to develop a hardware and software platform based on the results of its findings.
