By Mass High Tech

Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology (WEST) announced the recipients of its WEST leadership awards to be honored in Boston on June 4.

WEST leadership award winners include Abbie Celnik, global head of the program office, Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, for inspiring and assisting other women; Irene Greif, director, Collaborative User Experience, IBM Watson Center, for starting Lotus Research in 1992 and becoming the first female computer science doctoral graduate at MIT; Ivana Magovcevic-Liebisch, executive vice president of administration and general counsel, Dyax Corp., for her dealmaking abilities in the biotech industry; and ML Mackey, CEO and co-founder, Beacon Interactive Systems, for building a software business in the private and public sectors.

A nonprofit, WEST recognizes Boston-area women in science and technology who have either applied entrepreneurial thinking in a large company or founded their own companies.
