Iron Mountain picks up Denver firm DocuVault

Iron Mountain Inc. says that it has acquired a Denver-based records management and information destruction business that provides records storage, secure shredding and data backup services.

Boston-based Iron Mountain (NYSE:IRM) acquired the DocuVault Group LLLP, the parent company of five records management firms. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 1997, DocuVault operates DocuVault Colorado LLC, DocuVault Secure Shredding LLC, DocuVault Data Security LLC, DocuVault Management LLC and DocuVault Delaware Valley LLC.

Iron Mountain, founded in 1951, employs more than 20,000 workers.

Last year, the company completed several acquisitions, including the purchase of Pennsylvania-based digital media archiving specialists Xepa Digital LLP and Accutrac Software Inc., a California-based provider of records-management software and professional services. Both deals were for undisclosed amounts.

It also bought California-based Stratify Inc. for $158 million.

During 2007, Iron Mountain reported a $153 million net income on revenue of $2.7 billion.
