Pyxis Mobile picks Fidelity vet Mazzarella as chairman, CEO

Pyxis Mobile Inc., a developer of wireless applications for the financial services industry, reports it has tapped finance veteran Robert Mazzarella as the company's new chairman and CEO.
Mazzarella was previously a member of Waltham-based Pyxis Mobile's board, and an executive advisor. He replaces as CEO Shane Hughes, who will remain involved in the company through an advisory role and board participation, according to Pyxis.
Prior to retiring from Fidelity Investments in February, 2002, Mazzarella was president of Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC. He joined Fidelity in 1983 as vice president of client services for its National Financial Correspondent Services division.
In November 2007, Pyxis Mobile expanded by adding a new satellite office in Chicago, in addition to its existing branch in New York. Pyxis Mobile counts among its customers such companies as Blackstone Group, Deutsche Asset Management, Manulife, New York Life Investment and OppenheimerFunds.
