Mall Networks launches Virgin health rewards program

Online customer loyalty program developer Mall Networks reports the launch of a health rewards program by Virgin HealthMiles, the latest private-label service hosted by Lexington-based Mall Networks.

The venture-backed online shopping mall developer has had a busy spring: Last month, Mall Networks announced the Free Spirit Mall, an online shopping mall it created for Spirit Airlines frequent fliers. The month before that, the company named John Mangan its vice president of financial markets in an effort to develop business relationships with financial services customers. And in January, Mall Networks named Michael Morin its senior vice president of worldwide sales. Morin had been senior VP of worldwide sales for CXO Systems before its acquisition by Cisco Systems, and had also worked on the sales teams of i-Cube and Razorfish.

The Virgin HealthMiles deal offers so-called HealthCash to program members, who then shop at more than 500 retailers, including Circuit City, Staples, Apple, Target and Expedia, according to Mall Networks.

Mall Networks is headquartered in Lexington and is backed by FlyBridge Capital Partners (formerly IDG Ventures Boston), the Venture Capital Fund of New England, and LBO Enterprises.
