Babson names winners of 2008 biz plan contest
Incentive Targeting and Before The Stores LLC have won Babson College's 2008 business plan competitions, taking two chunks of the nearly $100,000 in total prizes awarded.
Behavioral marketing company Incentive Targeting won the Douglass Foundation Graduate Business Plan Competition. Second place among the graduate student plans went to InCytu Inc., a cell therapy company with a patch that heals diabetic foot ulcers by improving blood flow to the foot. Third place went to Atayne, which makes sportswear from recycled products.
Before The Stores LLC won the John H. Muller, Jr. Undergraduate Business Plan Competition. The company is a hybrid e-commerce website and market research firm that sells and collects data on new "as seen on TV" products from their initial release until their retail store launch. Second place went to Chaska Hotel & Spa, a full-service, four-star, eco-friendly hotel in Peru's Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Treating Eating Inc., an online support community for eating-disorder sufferers, took third place.
Babson started its business plan competition in 1984.
