Videré inks deal with tennis tourney featuring McEnroe, Sampras
Tennis star John McEnroe could scream at the referee remotely, via video conferencing technology at this year's Champions Cup Boston, thanks to a deal signed by Videré Conferencing Inc.
Videré will provide video conferencing technology to the Champions Cup Boston, an annual professional men's tennis tournament featuring world champions over the age of 30, company officials report.
Quincy-based Videré signed a three-year agreement to provide video conferencing services for the tournament, according to its organizer, InsideOut Sports of New York. The company will manage the tournament's conferencing projects, including best practices consultation, product selection, custom installations, training, maintenance and support. Videré will also provide the tournament with videoconferencing services for internal and external meetings and press conferences. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
This year, the tournament features 14-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras, seven-time Grand Slam champion John McEnroe, four-time Grand Slam champion Jim Courier, Australian, U.S. Open finalist Todd Martin and others competing for $150,000 in prize money.
The third annual Champions Cup Boston will take place April 30-May 4, 2008 at Boston University's Agganis Arena.
