JumpTap inks mobile ad deals with Fox, NBC

Cambridge-based JumpTap Inc. has cut two new deals to bring its mobile advertising applications to Fox Mobile Entertainment's new Fox Mobile Entertainment Network and NBC Universal.

The deals will help Fox Mobile Entertainment and NBC Universal deliver targeted mobile advertising based on popular entertainment brands, including The Simpsons, 24, Family Guy and NASCAR from Fox, and NBC Sports, Universal Pictures, Sci Fi Channel and Bravo from NBC Universal. In addition, JumpTap will also offer the capabilities to launch interactive features, such as SMS, or text, messaging campaigns.

Financial terms of the deals were not provided.

Founded in 2004 by Cambridge venture capital firm General Catalyst, JumpTap provides a mobile search and advertising platform aimed at helping subscribers find mobile-centric information on their cell phones, and carriers generate traffic.

JumpTap has landed approximately $43 million in private funding from a variety of investors, including Valhalla Partners in Vienna, Va., Redpoint Venture Partners in Menlo Park, Calif., BCE Capital in Toronto and General Catalyst.
