CDW picks eXalt for sales platform

On-demand sales software maker eXalt Solutions Inc. has landed Illinois-based technology retailer CDW Corp. as a customer for its Solutions Selling Platform.

According to company officials, CDW picked Cambridge-based eXalt because of its ability to put together multipartner solutions more quickly than conventional tools.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

EXalt's architecture uses meta data to implement new product types without having to reprogram software, as well as updating content on any other eXalt-powered site automatically, officials said. As a result, eXalt Powered sites can be created for a fraction of the cost of traditional sites while eliminating months of delays in the deployment process.

In January, eXalt was awarded a patent for its selling technology, or "intelligent multimedia e-catalog." That same month, eXalt landed as a client the Westcon Group Inc., a specialty distributor for technology vendors, including Cisco Systems Inc., Nortel Networks Inc. and Avaya Inc.
