LiveWire Mobile picks Inforonics for data center management
Managed data center service provider Inforonics LLC of Littleton reports it has struck a new partnership deal with LiveWire Mobile, a newly-minted division of NMS Communications Inc. in Framingham.
Terms of the agreement call for Inforonics to provide server and device management for LiveWire Mobile's servers, firewalls, load balancers and switches that are hosted remotely in the company's New York and California data centers. Call center and technical support for LiveWire Mobile's ringback services are also included in the deal. Financial terms were not provided.
LiveWire Mobile's ringback service is deployed with more than 30 mobile operators around the world, touching more than 185 million subscribers, officials say. The decision to outsource the management of the service was made so the company can focus on the launch of new services, including additional ringback offerings and network-based message and subscriber-focused personalization services, according to officials.
Founded in 1962 by MIT graduate Larry Buckland, Inforonics has been built on the management of complex IT infrastructures. In 1975, Inforonics created one of the first data publishing and retrieval systems, serving organizations such as the U.S. Library of Congress and the Boston Public Library. The company now focuses on data center management for large companies.
LiveWire was created by NMS Communications in December to manage the company's ringback service, which was originally launched in 2004.
