Solomon Tech takes on $150K defense deal

Solomon Technologies Inc. has landed a $150,000 contract to develop and supply a prototype power supply for a new advanced vehicle launch ordinance system for the U.S. military.

The Danbury, Conn.-based company's Technipower LLC division won a contract from an unnamed branch of the military to develop the power supply, which would replace a decades-old system on one of the military's primary light mobile bombardment platforms. Solomon Technologies said the product is intended to increase launch trajectory accuracy.

The first prototype system is scheduled for delivery during the fourth quarter of 2008.

Solomon Technologies develops, licenses, manufactures, and sells precision electric power drive systems. The company reported a 2006 net loss of $16.3 million on revenue of $2.3 million.
