Reva's RFID tech reaches Asia with new Tokyo office
Reva Systems Inc., a radio frequency identification (RFID) infrastructure product maker, reports opening its first office in Asia.
Executives of the Chelmsford-based company said the new facility, located in Tokyo, would serve as regional headquarters for Reva's sales and technical operations for the Pacific Rim.
The office will be led by Satoshi Shiba, Reva's vice president of sales for Asia Pacific and Japan. Shiba was most recently regional director and general manager of Billerica-based Voltaire Inc.'s Asian operations, located in Tokyo.
Reva makes an RFID infrastructure platform, aimed at tying together disparate readers, tags and environments to provide a single control mechanism for deployments that may include multiple locations around the world.
The company opened its first European office in October 2007.
Founded in 2004, Reva Systems has brought in more than $30 million in funding from investors including Charles River Ventures and North Bridge Venture Partners. The company also has two strategic investors in Cisco Systems Inc. and SAP Ventures.
