General Dynamics unit awarded $8.6M Pentagon IT deal
General Dynamics Information Technology has landed an $8.6 million modification to a contract previously awarded to the company by the U.S. Army.
The modification calls for the Needham-based defense contractor to continue to survey, plan, design, install and implement information technology systems within the Pentagon's IT infrastructure, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. Work will be performed at the Pentagon in Arlington, Va., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2010.
General Dynamics Information Technology is a business unit of General Dynamics Corp., which is headquartered in Falls Church, Va. There are five General Dynamics business units operating in New England, including Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine. The company employs 83,000 people worldwide and reported a 2006 profit of $2.6 billion on revenue of $24.1 billion.
