Sapporo drinkers, BostonNOW readers targets of g8wave deals

Mobile marketing and content development company g8wave Holdings Inc. has popped the top on a deal with Japanese beermaker Sapporo to launch a suite of mobile services.

Sapporo USA, a division of Japanese Sapporo International, will use Boston-based g8wave's mobile web platform to reach out to beer drinkers to deliver information and special offers to mobile handsets. G8wave will develop web and mobile web sites through which Sapporo will make available mobile content such as ringtones and wallpapers, as well as information on upcoming Sapporo events and where to find Sapporo locally.

No financial details of the agreement were released.

Earlier this week, g8wave announced a partnership with the free daily newspaper BostonNOW and Needham-based promotions company Blitz Live, to reach BostonNOW's readers through text message news alerts to the paper's readership.

Spun out of the Phoenix Media/Communications Group in 2005, g8wave shares are traded over the counter.
