Quattro adds bunny ears to client roster
Mobile content developer Quattro Wireless Inc. of Waltham has landed Playboy.com as its newest customer.
The well-known men's lifestyle website will use the Quattro Wireless platform to provide mobile content to subscribers, including non-nude photos, games, advice book, game and movie reviews and the personal interviews of Playboy models, according to Quattro officials. The platform also includes the distribution of advertising from Playboy.com sponsors.
The announcement comes just weeks after Quattro closed a $12.3 million second round of funding from Globespan Capital Partners and Highland Capital Partners.
The company makes a self-service mobile advertising development platform aimed at advertisers and content publishers, officials said. However, the company has been developing campaigns in-house as the platform, called GetMobile, is rolled out.
Previous customers include Gillette, Univision, NFL.com, CoverGirl and TheStreet.com, according to officials.
Quattro was founded in 2006 and is led by Andrew Miller and Eswar Priyadarshan, both former executives at Boston's m-Qube Inc., a mobile marketing channel developer that was acquired by California's VeriSign Inc. for $250 million in 2006.
