BAE helps connect N.H. first responders
Firefighters and police officers in New Hampshire have won a $93,760 federal grant to purchase technology built by a Granite State defense contractor.
A Nashua, N.H.-based business unit of BAE Systems Inc. has developed a radio communications system for first responders in the New Hampshire communities of Amherst, Bedford and Merrimack, according to the company. BAE developed a device that allows operators to talk over radios using different frequencies.
BAE Systems Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of United Kingdom-based BAE Systems PLC, and is headquartered in Rockville, Md. BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration Inc. is the BAE business unit based in Nashua. BAE Systems PLC employs 96,000 workers worldwide and reported 2006 annual sales of $25 billion.
