Reviewed.com reels in content deal with Washington Post
A Somerville firm that runs online review websites has teamed up with a national newspaper for tech product reviews.
Reviewed.com and The Washington Post's online edition, washingtonpost.com, have launched a new technology reviews channel in which Reviewed.com editors provide hands-on reviews with scientific, standardized testing, analysis and information, to be featured on washingtonpost.com's technology section.
According to Reviewed.com officials, the company's ratings system uses a standardized system of analysis for every product. Scientific performance scores are combined with human analysis to arrive at a rating for each product that can be compared to other products reviewed that year, according to the companies.
No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
Digital cameras, camcorders, cell phones, TVs, laptops, and printers are among the items planned to be featured in the reviews. To protect the integrity of each review, Reviewed.com refuses all gifts and press junkets, and upholds a strict separation between its advertising and editorial departments, officials say.
Each review at washingtonpost.com will feature a link to a more in-depth review published on one of Reviewed.com's niche publications including DigitalCameraInfo.com, CamcorderInfo.com, WirelessInfo.com, and PrinterInfo.com.
