Phase Forward lands N.C.-based CRO as client

Waltham-based Phase Forward Inc. reports that a global contract research firm based in North Carolina will use its information technology designed for clinical trials.

AAIPharma Inc., of Wilmington, N.C., has selected Phase Forward's "Inform" electronic data capture system and its "Clintrial" clinical trial management software, according to AAIPharma, which operates sites throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and South America.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Phase Forward said its products and services have been used in more than 10,000 clinical trials that have involved more than 1 million patients and 250 organizations. With 450 employees, the firm reported 2006 net income of $12.4 million on revenue of $106.6 million.
