Zeien steps down from EMC board

Data storage company EMC Corp. reports that eight-year board member Alfred M. Zeien has resigned for health reasons.

He's been replaced by Edmund F. Kelly, chairman, president and CEO of Liberty Mutual Group.

Zeien, the 77-year-old retired chairman and CEO of The Gillette Co., had been an EMC board member since 1999. The company didn't disclose details about Zeien's health.

Hopkinton-based EMC reported a profit of $1.22 billion for 2006 on revenue of $11.15 billion. The company employs 31,100 workers worldwide.
