Vermont firm lands Navy chopper diagnostics contract

A Vermont-based business unit of Goodrich Corp. has won a $17 million contract for helicopter mechanical diagnostics systems for the U.S. Navy.

Goodrich Fuel and Utility Systems, which is based in Vergennes, Vt., is scheduled to provide 56 CH-53 helicopter diagnostic systems by September 2008. The Naval Air Systems Command, based in Patuxent River, Md., is the contractor.

Goodrich Fuel Utilities Systems, which is part of Goodrich's Sensors and Integrated Systems unit, is headquartered in Vergennes, Vt.

The Sensor Systems business unit of Goodrich Corp. is headquartered in Burnsville, Minn. In 2006, Goodrich Corp. reported revenue of $5.8 billion.
