Goodrich Vermont division lands $8M Navy sensor deal

A Vermont-based business unit of Goodrich Corp. has garnered an $8 million contract for sensor systems from the U.S. Navy.

Goodrich Fuel Utilities Systems, formerly known as Simmonds Precision Products Inc., is expected to provide the Navy with vehicle diagnostics systems, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.

The project, which was commissioned by the Naval Air Systems Command based in Patuxent River, Md., is scheduled to be completed by February 2008.

Goodrich Fuel Utilities Systems, which is part of Goodrich's Sensors and Integrated Systems unit, is headquartered in Vergennes, Vt.

The Sensor Systems business unit of Goodrich Corp. is headquartered in Burnsville, Minn. In 2006, Goodrich Corp. reported revenue of $5.8 billion.
