Conn. company collects Marine contract worth up to $150M

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Co. of Simsbury, Conn., reports it has won a $12.6 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Marine Corp.

The contract calls for EBA&D to produce, test and deliver its Anti-Personnel Obstacle Breaching System. The company is scheduled to provide in the first year 200 test units, testing support, technical data, inert models, and a maximum of 3000 production units. This contract, expected to be completed by September 2007, includes options which, if exercised, would bring the total value to $150.8 million.

The Marine Corps Systems Command in Quantico, Va., awarded the contract. EBA&D is a privately held maker of energetic systems used in minefield and obstacle breaching, military demolition, vehicle protection, tactical weapons, and space and strategic systems.
