Emptoris lands $20.5M in series C funding
By Jeff Miller
Emptoris Inc., a Burlington-based software company whose product manages supply chain relationships, has raised $20.5 million in its third round of funding.
California-based Menlo Ventures led the round. New investor HarbourVest Partners also participated, along with previous investors and all existing investors NetInvest and Internet Capital Group.
Emptoris has raised $43 million to date.
The 100-employee company will use the new capital to fund expansion in sales, marketing, development and entry into new foreign markets.
Chief executive and cofounder Avner Schneur declined to comment specifically on the company's valuation.
"I was pleased with what we've got, considering the pressure that exists in the market," Schneur said.
Emptoris has about 30 customers, Schneur said, including pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline.
