Edgewater Technology brings home office to Wakefield location
By Patricia Resende
Edgewater Technology Inc., a systems integration company, has moved its headquarters to Massachusetts and promoted Shirley Singleton to chief executive officer.
Edgewater, which has offices in Wakefield; Manchester, N.H.; North Carolina, and Minnesota, moved its headquarters from Fayetteville, Ark., to Wakefield.
The announcement comes a little more than a year after an employee shot and killed seven Edgewater employees in the Wakefield office on the day after Christmas.
Singleton, who was praised for her handling of the tragedy, will replace Clete Brewer, who will become a non-executive chairman of the board.
"These management transitions are the final step in a plan we began more than a year ago to strategically refocus Edgewater Technology as a pure-play technology consulting and systems integration firm and to move our headquarters," Brewer said.
"Shirley Singleton has been a driving force behind the growth and development of Edgewater Technology. With her proven management and technology expertise, she has the knowledge and expertise to lead Edgewater Technology in becoming an industry leader that provides technology solutions to the middle market."
Edgewater Technology, which Singleton co-founded in 1992, was purchased by holding company StaffMark Inc. in 1996. StaffMark then changed its name to Edgewater Technology Inc. and focused on Edgewater Technology as its primary brand.
In 2000, the holding company discontinued its operations of its commercial staffing segment including Robert Walters, Strategic Legal Resources, IntelliMark and ClinForce.
Edgewater also announced that Kevin Rhodes will be the company's new chief financial officer, replacing Terry Bellora, who was CFO for the past five years.
