28Wins: Founded in 2010, Cambridge-based 28Wins develops social sports game applications, launching with the Facebook game Gameday Tycoon.

2N+1 LLC: Somerville-based 2N+1 provides data center services -- everything except the servers. The company was founded in 2007.

3Play Media:   Somerville-based 3Play provide transcription services, specializing in time synchronization, video captioning, archive indexing and search. The company was founded in 2007.

7AC Technologies Inc.: Founded in 2009, Woburn-based 7AC Technologies develops a waste heat driven air conditioning system that it says can reduce the heating and cooling costs of a building by 75 percent.

Abine Inc.    Founded in 2009, Cambridge-based Abine develops website privacy tools for consumers.

Abroad101:  Boston startup Abroad101 develops a software as a service tool for higher education institutions that automates the study abroad program evaluation process. The company was founded in 2007.

Accelereach: Founded in 2009, Accelereach is a health care IT startup. The company is based in Providence.

AcceloWeb: Founded in 2008, North Easton-based AcceloWeb has developed website optimization and acceleration software.

Acceptional: Weston-based Acceptional, founded in 2011, has developed a social platform to connect college applicants with example essays, essay editing and college counseling services provided by college students.

AcceptU:  Founded in 2009, Boston-based AcceptU aims to help prospective students connect with admissions counselors for college and universities they are interested in attending.

Acetylon Pharmaceuticals Inc.: Boston-based Acetylon Pharmaceuticals, founded in 2008,  is developing HDAC inhibiting small molecule drugs to treat cancer, autoimmune and other diseases.

Achilles Test Systems Inc.: Waltham-based Achilles, founded in 2006, provides software and consulting services intended to automate and enhance the management and organization of data.

AcrossWorld Education Company Inc.: The company, which was founded in 2009, aggregates open source educational content and provides it free of charge to educational institutions.

Actifio Inc.:   Weston-based Actifio is a Weston-based IT storage startup. The company was founded in 2009.

Active Interview: Cambridge-based Active Interview, founded in 2009, has developed a web platform for conducting video interviews online and tracking, scoring and reviewing candidates.

Active Shock LLC: Founded in 2009, Active Shock develops semi-active suspension technology, based on its Ride State Aware algorithm, for shock mitigation in a range of vehicles. The company is based in Manchester, N.H.

AcuityBio Corp.: Founded in 2008, Newton-based AcuityBio has developed a drug-eluting implant that reduces the incidence of locoregional lung cancer recurrence by locally delivering therapeutic levels of drug to the site of disease for over several months.

AdelaVoice Corp.: Boston-based AdelaVoice, founded in 2010, has developed StartTalking, a mobile application for hands-free, voice-activated texting.

Adimab Inc.: Founded in 2007, Lebanon, NH-based Adimab has developed a yeast-based discovery platform for discovering and optimizing human antibodies.

AdME Inc.: AdME Inc., which is short for Advertising-driven Mobile Entertainment, is a provider of mobile “advergames” that build brand management and loyalty. Founded in 2007, the company is based in Melrose.

Adaptive Speech LLC: New Preston, Conn.-based Adaptive Speech LLC distributes NCT ClearSpeech products that are made to reduce noise and echo interference, thereby improving signal-to-noise ratios and enhancing speech quality. The company was founded in 2006.

Adros Energy LLC:   Amherst, N.H.-based Adros designs and installs solar, geothermal and wind energy systems. The company was founded in 2009.

Adva Mobile Corp.:  Wayland-based Adva provides software as a service intended to enable musicians connect with their audiences through mobile messaging, mobile content fulfillment, mobile presence, and sharing through social networks. The company was founded in 2008.

Aeronautica Windpower LLC:   Plymouth-based Aeronautica builds mid-scale commercial and industrial wind turbines. The company was founded in 2008.

Affectiva Inc.: Founded in 2009, Waltham-based Affectiva has developed a wearable biosensor that measures bodily reactions that correspond to emotions.

Agilux Laboratories: Agilux Laboratories, founded in 2007, is a Worcester-based bioanalytical chemistry services laboratory providing biotechs with drug discovery and development services.

AirVentions Inc.:  Founded in 2010, Boston-based AirVentions has created a collision avoidance sensor system for use in the airline industry between aircraft and ground support vehicles.

AisleBuyer: Founded in 2009, Boston-based Aisle Buyer has developed a mobile application for in-aisle research of products in store including function for purchasing using phone.

Aid Aide: Cambridge-based Aid Aide, founded in 2010, has developed an online tool that walks students through the entire financial aid process for college.

Akiba Technologies Inc.:   Founded in 2009, Akiba makes virtualization software. The company is based in Boston.

Akaza Research Inc.:   Cambridge-based Akaza makes clinical trial management software for pharmaceutical companies. The company was founded in 2006.

Allena Pharmaceuticals Inc.:  Founded in 2011, Newton-based Allena Pharmaceuticals is focused on treating nephrologic and urologic conditions with non-systemic protein therapeutics.

AlloStem Therapeutics LLC: Founded in 2010, Farmington, Conn.-based AlloStem Therapeutics is working toward the discovery and development of targeted cancer therapies.

Alpinewerx LLC: Founded in 2011, Cambridge-based Alpinewerx is developing a digital rock climbing guidebook application platform for mobile phones.

American Innovative Research Corp.:   Founded in 2009, AIR develops technology for use in household and institutional airborne contamination purification and protection. The company is headquartered in Andover.

American Well Corp.:   Boston-based American Well has developed an online marketplace where healthcare providers and patients can network. The company was founded in 2006.

Ampergen: Founded in 2008, Ampergen makes portable battery technology. The company is based in Woburn.

Anagraph Medical Solutions Inc.: Cambridge-based Anagraph Medical Solutions, founded in 2009, has developed EHR software for the treatment of oncology patients.

Anchor Therapeutics Inc.: Cambridge-based Anchor is developing treatments for cancer, inflammation, metabolism, heart disease and pain. The company was founded in 2007.

Anthurium Solutions Inc.: Founded in 2006, Anthurium has developed a SaaS-based online marketplace to help digital workers find digital work. The company is based in Boston.

Apperian Inc.: One-year-old Apperian Inc., based in Boston, creates iPhone applications. Its developers hail directly from Apple Inc.

Appguppy: Appguppy has created a platform to help small businesses develop free customized mobile applications quickly. The Brookline company was launched in 2011.

Applico LLC: Founded in 2009, Applico develops customized mobile applications for Blackberry, Android and iPhone platforms.

Appswell LLC:   Boston-based Appswell lets users vote on which mobile application it develops. The company is based in Boston.

AppZero:  Founded in 2009, AppZero makes application virtualization software in virtual application appliances for use in any machine. The company is based in Andover.

Arcanatura LLC: Founded in 2008, Groton, CT-based Arcanatura develops natural shampoos, dietary supplements, and herbal plants extract pharmaceuticals for pets.

arcbazar Inc.:  A Cambridge startup founded in 2010, arcbazar is an online competition website for architectural designers and contractors to connect with clients on small and medium scale design projects.

Architexa Inc.: Cambridge-based Architexa makes software engineering analysis tools. The company was founded in 2007.

Arkalon Chemical Technologies LLC: Meriden, Conn.-based Arkalon provides manufacturing services for chemical companies, including development, synthesis and production. The company was founded in 2006.

ARMS Inc.: The Dedham-based company helps companies manage their technology inventory, including installing new networks and recycling computers. ARMS, which stands for Asset Recovery Management Solutions, was founded in 2006.

Asthma Signals Inc.: Founded in 2009, Woburn-based Asthma Signals has developed software that tracks children’s activities and locations as they correspond to asthma triggers to provide notifications of a possible asthma attack trigger.

Athleague Inc.: Boston-based Athleague, founded in 2010, is a web-based intramural league management system for tracking, scheduling, and organizing intramural sports matches.

Attivio:   Founded in 2007, Attivio makes enterprise search and business intelligence software. The company is based in Newton.

Audax Medical Inc.: Founded in 2010, Littleton-based Audax Medical is developing a medical device to treat diseased components of the spine.

Aura Biosciences Inc.: Founded in 2009, Cambridge-based Aura Biosciences is developing a nanotechnology platform for precise delivery of drugs to help make drugs more effective and better tolerated.

Automated Business Solutions Inc.: The Canton-based company provides software and hardware sales and services for small businesses, as well as online data backup, point of sale systems, and general office computer sales, service and network management. Automated Business Solutions was founded in 2009. 

Autotegrity Inc.: Cambridge-based Autotegrity, founded in 2007, has developed data modeling software that analyzes sales leads for the automotive industry.

AutoVirt Inc.:   Founded in 2007, AutoVirt provides automated online data migration software for mid-range Windows environments. The company is based in Nashua, N.H.

Avantra Biosciences Corp.: Founded in 2009, Woburn-based Avantra Biosciences has developed an integrated system of hardware, software and biology for multiplex biomarker analysis.

Averica Discovery Services Inc.:   Founded in 2007, Averica is an analytical laboratory offering small molecule purification and compound analysis. The company is based in Worcester.

Avila Therapeutics Inc.: Waltham-based Avila develops covalent drugs intended to silence disease-causing proteins. The company was founded in 2006.

Axena Technologies: Founded in 2010, Providence, RI-based Axena has developed an antibacterial coating for medical tubing six times more effective at reducing bacterial growth than the current industry standard for antibacterial coatings.

Axios Biosciences:  Axios Biosciences, founded in 2009, is a cancer therapeutics developer that combines tumor microenvironment models and cancer genomics.

Ayantek LLC: Bedford-based Ayantek, founded in 2008, designs, builds and manages digital interactive programs for websites.

Azarias International:  Azarias International is an IT services startup that provides automation tools through its cloud-based vCTO operations management product. The Biddeford, Maine-based company was founded in 2010.

Azuki Systems: Acton-based Azuki systems makes interactive mobile media services technology for content publishers and mobile operators. The company was founded in 2007.

Back9 Network Inc.:  Founded in 2010, Back9 Network is a multi-platform golf network for television, computer or mobile devices. The startup is located in Simsbury, Conn.

Bakodo: Providence, R.I.-based Bakodo, founded in 2009, has developed an iPhone app that can scan nearly all types of barcodes for use in comparison shopping.

BA Logix Inc.:   Quincy-based BA Logix is a Tufts UNiversity spinout that develops algorithms for image processing and compression. The company was founded in 2007.

Bandgap Engineering Inc.: Bandgap is developing and manufacturing solar cells and modules intended to perform more efficiently than commercially available alternatives. The Waltham-based company was founded in 2007.

Bankfox:  Cambridge-based Bankfox makes an online tool allowing users to compare banks based on rates, fees, health, online tools, and more. The company was founded in 2009.

Bar Harbor Biotechnology Inc.: Founded in 2006, Bar Harbor Biotechnology is developing molecular biology products and services for research and clinical medicine. The company is based in Trenton, Maine.

Basho Technologies Inc.: Two-year-old startup Basho Technologies is a Cambridge developer of Riak, a datastore, available as both open source or paid commercial versions, in which apps are read- and write-available.

BatchBlue Software Inc.:  Barrington, R.I.-based BatchBlue develops software for small businesses and entrepreneurs. The company was founded in 2006.

Baydin Inc.: Founded in 2009, Boston-based Baydin makes plugins for Microsoft Outlook and Gmail to improve the usability of email communication.

Beacon 16 Software Inc.:   Boston-based Beacon 16 develops healthcare and life sciences software, such as the opensource Clickframes. The company was founded in 2009.

BetterLesson: BetterLesson is a five-employee startup developing a web-based application intended to help educators network and share resources and ideas. The Somerville-based company was founded in 2008.

bGreen Group LLC:  Boston startup, bGreen lifestyle + building is an e-commerce website that showcases eco-friendly lifestyle, construction and renovation products. The company launched in 2009.

Bioarray Therapeutics Inc.: Founded in 2009, Belmont-based Bioarray Therapeutics is developing a series of novel diagnostic tests for breast cancer diagnostics based on gene expression technology.

Biodiesel Warehouse LLC: The Richmond, Vt.-based company, founded in 2006, is a reseller of biodiesel processing equipment and accessories.

BioMarketing Insight:   Founded in 2008, Woburn-based BioMarketing Insight provides market development and product development services to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industries.

Biorasis Inc.: Biorasis makes a wireless, implantable, sensing platform intended for continuous monitoring of bio-analytes.

Biotricity Medical Inc.: Biotricity is developing a tiny implantable biogenerator to power implanted biomedical devices, intended to reduce periodic surgical removal of devices to replace their depleted energy source. The Hopkinton-based company was founded in 2007.

BirthData Pro LLC (dba Gifts on Time): Founded in 2008, Scituate-based Gifts on Time is an online gift management system that allows users to schedule gift giving for both personal and business recipients.

Bison Alternatives:  Founded in 2011, Cambridge’s BISON (Boston Illiquid Securities Offering Network) Alternatives is a web-based platform aimed at raising capital for alternative investments.

Black-I Robotics Inc.:  Tyngsboro-based Black-I designs and manufactures unmanned ground vehicles for military, research and homeland security applications. The company was founded in 2006.

Blank Label Group LLC: Founded in 2009, Blank Label runs a web site where users can design their own customized dress shirts. The company is based in Boston.

Bliss Healthcare Inc.: Founded in 2009, Waltham-based Bliss Healthcare has developed a web-supported home care service to link families with healthcare professionals caring for their loved ones.

Bloson: Cambridge-based Bloson, founded in 2010, is a social platform where users raise money for charities by sharing music and videos with their friends and making online purchases.

Bluefin Lab Inc.:   Founded in 2008, Bluefin makes video search technology. The company is based in Somerville.

BlueLeaf: Founded in 2009 in Cambridge, BlueLeaf has developed financial management software for tracking finances and securely storing financial data.

Blue Stream Laboratories Inc.:   Cambridge-based Blue Stream performs product characterization and analytical testing services for the life sciences industry. The company was founded in 2006.

Bluetrain Mobile: Cambridge-based Bluetrain Mobile is a mobile website platform that enables companies to quickly and easily create mobile sites for iPhone, Android or Blackberry devices.

Bluewire Partners:  Needham-based Bluewire provides business-class hosted VOIP phone services for small- and medium-sized organizations. The company was founded in 2006.

Boingnet LLC: Scituate-based Boingnet, founded in 2008, is an Internet company allowing clients to track online marketing campaigns and create their own mini-websites.

BookBlunder: Founded in 2010, Boston-based BookBlunder is a site that aggregates reviews of textbook usage in school courses to help students decide whether or not to buy the book.

Book of Odds Enterprises Inc.:   Boston-based Book of Odds has developed a web site that parses probability statistics from the web and presents them in a format designed for consumers. The company was founded in 2009.

Boston Heart Lab Corp.: Framingham-based Boston Heart Lab offers diagnostic tests for heart disease. The company was founded in 2007.

Boston Protein Solutions:   Founded in 2008, Boston Protein Solutions develops technologies to minimize and prohibit protein aggregations either in solutions or in solids. The company is based in Fall River.

Bountii Inc.: Boston-based Bountii has developed a search engine intended to find lower and more accurate prices when shopping. The company was founded in 2007.

Brainyflix:   Cambridge-based Brainyflix uses online, user-generated images and videos to teach students SAT vocabulary. The company was founded in 2009.

Bridgemedica LLC: Bridgemedica is a 12-employee contract designer, engineer and manufacturer of medical devices. The Walpole-based company was founded in 2008.

Brightleaf:  The Westwood-based company makes a document automation platform for law firms and legal departments. The company was founded in 2007.

Brighter Planet Inc.:   Founded in 2006, Brighter Planet makes a social web application where users can measure their climate impact, discover tailored conservation tips to save energy and money, and create emission-reducing strategies, and share their ideas and experiences.

Brightstar Solar:  Founded in 2009, Boston-based Brightstar Solar handles photovoltaic installations for residential and commercial solar power customers.

Brite-Strike Technologies Inc.:   Kingston-based Brite-Strike makes tactical LED flashlights for police, the military and consumers. The company was founded in 2006.

BuyWithMe Inc.: Founded in 2009, BuyWithMe has developed a website where consumers can pool together to buy goods at a discount. The company is based in Boston.

Buzzient Inc.:   Cambridge-based Buzzient provides social media analytics for marketing. The company was founded in 2007.

ByteLight: Founded in 2010, Boston-based ByteLight is developing intelligent lighting and control systems.

Cadrus Therapeutics Inc.:   Founded in 2009, Cadrus is developing a receptor-mediated, drug delivery technology intended to enable oral delivery of injectable drugs. The company is based in Worcester.

Cambridge BioSource LLC:  Cambridge BioSource, founded in 2009, provides specimans such as DNA, RNA, frozen human tissues and human biomaterials to the biotech, pharmaceutical and scientific research industries.

Cambridge Semantics Inc.: Founded in 2007, Boston-based Cambridge Semantics is a provider of semantic middleware and application development tools.

CampusEmployer:  CampusEmployer, a Boston startup launched in 2011, is an employment website intended to connect employers with college students.

Campus Libre:  Worcester-based Campus Libre, founded in 2011, is a free textbook listing board and online price comparison search engine, aimed at college students.

CampusLive Inc.: Amherst-based CampusLive makes a platform for college students to make web pages. The company was founded in 2006.

Candid Hub Inc.: Brighton-based Candid Hub sets up kiosks at events to collect and display photos from guests’ digital cameras, and sets up online galleries. The company was founded in 2009.

Candy.com: The “virtual corner candy store,” Candy.com sells more than 6,000 different candy products online. The Weymouth-based company was founded in 2009.

Capital Vault Inc.: Capital Vault makes enterprise-level data backup software. The company is based in Boston.

Capturecode: CaptureCode is a Waltham marketing solutions firm that relies on email, gift cards and loyalty to build business. The company was founded in 2007.

Carbonaceous Syn Fuels LLC: A 2011-founded startup, Carbonaceous Syn Fuels of East Hartford, Conn., is an R&D startup developing alternative fuels from emerging technology, including a carbon dioxide conversion system.

Carbon Challenge Inc.: Founded in 2007, Somerville-based Carbon Challenge Inc. (dba Carbon Rally) makes reducing carbon emissions competitive for users by creating challenges to see which team of users can reduce their carbon footprint the most.

CardStar Inc.: Boston-based CardStar, founded in 2008, has developed a mobile app that consolidates all brand loyalty cards into one digital barcode.

CaringWise Inc.: Boston-based CaringWise, founded in 2010, is a web and mobile platform for storing and sharing essential caregiving data for family members.

Carrot Medical LLC: Founded in 2008, Boston-based Carrot Medical designs medical imaging display systems that integrate audio and visual data.

CareerNumbers: Founded in 2007, CareerNumbers runs a web site that provides individuals and employers detailed salary information. The company is based in Boston.

Catabasis Pharmaceuticals Inc.: Cambridge-based Catabasis Pharmaceuticals, founded in 2008, is developing medicines to treat inflammatory and metabolic diseases.

Catalyte LLC:   Founded in 2008, Catalyte is developing technology to generate electricity without carbon dioxide exhaust. The company is based in Arlington.

Cellay Inc.:   Cellay is a molecular diagnostic company that makes fluorescent in situ hybridization probe assays and reagents used in clinical diagnostic and research settings. The Cambridge company was founded in 2009.

CellMosaic LLC: Worcester-based CellMosaic, founded in 2008, develops bioconjugates for pharmaceutical and biotech companies, academic institutions and government agencies.

CentricInfo:   Founded in 2009, CentricInfo is an IT consulting firm focusing on data centers. The company is based in Hopkinton.

Cervello Inc.: Boston-based Cervello was founded in 2009 as a provider of SaaS and on-demand consulting, managed services and joint venture application development.

CFRx Inc.: Charlestown-based CFRx, founded in 2009, is a laboratory researching small molecules to treat Cystic Fibrosis.

Chargify LLC: Founded in 2009, Chargify is a recurring billing SaaS application for businesses to securely charge credit cards for online orders. The company is based in Needham and grew out of Grasshopper Labs.

Cheap Today Inc.:   Founded in 2008, Cheap Today is an online database of shopping deals. The company is based in Brookline.

CheXout Systems Inc.: Ashby-based CheXout has developed a mobile application for splitting a restaurant tab. The company was founded in 2009.

Chump Studios LLC: Chump Studios makes casual games for major consoles. Somerville-based Chump has three employees and was founded in 2008.

City Penguin: Founded in 2010, Boston -based City Penguin is developing mobile application to take social media streams from Facebook and Twitter and put them on a map to promote local businesses.

Civitas Therapeutics:   Founded in 2011, Civitas Therapeutics, of Chelsea, has developed respiratory drug delivery technology, with its lead product focused onn Parkinson’s disease.

Click Diagnostics Inc.: Founded in 2008, Lexington-based Click Diagnostics is developing mobile tools geared toward bringing  affordable and quality health services to under-served communities.

Clickfil LLC:   Woburn-based Clickfil has developed a website that lets users request home heating oil delivery. The company was founded in 2009.

Clickfuel Inc.:   Boston-based Clickfuel uses search and marketing management tools to allow users to administer, track, measure and report search marketing campaigns. The company was founded in 2009.

Cliniworks Inc.: Founded in 2007, Cliniworks makes software for clinical drug development. The company is based in Waltham.

Closed Loop Service: Tewksbury-based Closed Loop Service, founded in 2010, has developed an online platform that lets consumers price, pay for and manage household services online.

Close-Haul Communications Inc.: Founded in 2009, Boston-based Close-Haul Communications builds low-cost cellular access points optimized for open source software that connect GSM mobile phones to the global telecommunications infrastructure via the Internet.

CloudFloor Corp.:  CloudFloor is a cloud management and optimization platform intended to provide analysis cloud operations in one dashboard. The Waltham company was founded in 2010.

Cloud Visions: Boston startup Cloud Visions aims to provide insight on cloud computing technology and trends to companies, in addition to focusing on global regulatory compliance in the cloud. The company was founded in 2010.

Cloudant: Somerville-based Cloudant is a provider of cloud data analytics software. The Y Combinator-backed startup was founded in 2008 by three MIT researchers.

CloudLock: CloudLock develops IT management and data security applications in the cloud. The Waltham company was founded in 2008.

CloudSwitch: Located in Burlington, CloudSwitch helps move enterprise software applications to cloud computing securely and without any changes. 

Clovr Media Inc.: Clovr Media is a 2010-founded company in Boston that has built a platform to build loyalty from credit and debit card holders through web, video and mobile ads that convert to savings.

Cogent Mobile Inc.:  Founded in 2010, Cambridge-based Cogent Mobile develops a Voice CRM mobile application, intended for field sales professionals to use with smartphone of tablet devices.

Common Soles LLC: Founded in 2009, CommonSoles is a for-profit online marketplace for sandals that donates 4 percent of its proceeds to educational efforts in developing countries. The company is based in Wellesley.

Complete Playlists LLC (project of Zatisfi LLC): South Glastonbury, CT-based Complete Playlists, founded in 2008, provides professionally created playlists, playlist sharing, and technology that makes all playlists work automatically on every device for users.

Coneco Geothermal Systems LLC:   Bridgewater-based Coneco provides geothermal heating, cooling, and hot water systems. The company was founded in 2007.

ConnectScholar Inc.: Swampscott-based ConnectScholar, founded in 2009, is a search engine for finding and applying for scholarships.

Constellation Pharmaceuticals Inc.: Founded in 2008, Cambridge-based Constellation Pharmaceuticals is focused on discovering and developing drugs to treat cancer and inflammatory/immunologic disorders.

Containers to Clinics Inc.: Founded in 2009, Containers to Clinics is a nonprofit converting shipping containers to health care clinics. The company is based in Dover.

Continuity Control (formerly Continuity Engine Inc.): Founded in 2008, New Haven-based Continuity Control develops on-demand regulatory compliance applications.

Conversion Associates Inc.: Founded in 2006, Conversion Associates provides web analytics and call tracking services. The company is based in Allston.

Conversation Media Inc.: Founded in 2009, Boston-based Conversation Media developed TouchBase, a geo-aware web and mobile application that allows parents and children to have conversations about their whereabouts and see it visually through a map.

Convertiv LLC: Wakefield-based Convertiv is an interactive marketing agency and mobile application developer. The company was founded in 2009.

Convocast: Burlington, Conn.-based Convocast, founded in 2007, is developing a cross-platform, voice-enabled interactive audience-engagement application for traditional broadcast and print media.
